It all started with a mother's request

It all started when our Co-Founder, Geoff's mother, asked him for life insurance advice. She struggled to find someone to help her with a small policy to protect her children financially, which she could afford within her fixed budget, so she turned to her son.

Spending his career in distributing financial services products, including pioneering insurance distribution through retail bank branches in the 90s, Geoff was glad to help. He knew from experience that broker-dealers in banks didn't typically interact with fixed-budget customers like his mother because it isn't worth their time and effort, and instead focused on their high-net-worth customers.

In his quest to help his mother, he discovered an oversized opportunity with tens of millions of mass-market customers in the US of adult-age who seek coverage but can't find help, 50% of whom would buy insurance from their trusted bank or credit union. And it would be profitable and scalable for everyone in the insurance distribution chain if distributed with modern technology.

Geoff knew he needed a technology expert to bring his insurance distribution vision to life and show the art of the possible. That's when he found John, an innovative leader, tech entrepreneur, and ex-IBMer who had helped digitally transform insurance and financial services companies throughout his career. Attracted by the significant opportunity to apply cutting-edge AI technology to revolutionize insurance distribution at scale and help financial institutions across the US uniquely service mass-market customers, they formed InsureLife.
